Service 02

Hosting and care

Hosting is a server. A care plan means someone is responsible for your website still working on a Tuesday morning, and that when something breaks you have a person to contact rather than a ticket queue.

A website is never really finished. Domains expire, certificates renew, software needs patching, and contact forms quietly stop delivering. That last one is the dangerous one, because nobody notices for weeks and every enquiry in between is gone.

A care plan is not rent on your website. It is so there is somebody whose job it is to notice.

How it works

Three steps, no mystery.

Scoped with you, quoted fixed, built in the open.

Step 1

Move in

We take over hosting and DNS without downtime, or launch your new site straight onto our infrastructure.

Step 2

Watch

Uptime, forms, certificates, backups and updates are monitored and handled every month.

Step 3

Improve

Changes you ask for are made within the plan, and we tell you what we did in plain English.

Who it suits

  • Any site we build, for the first year as standard
  • Sites built elsewhere that nobody is looking after
  • Regulated organisations that need a named person responsible for the site

Questions

Things people ask first.

Do I have to take a care plan?

For the first twelve months after a build, yes. We are accountable for the site working, and we can't be that if we can't see it. After that it is your choice.

What if I need something outside the plan?

We tell you what it costs before we do it. You will never get an invoice for something you didn't agree to.

Can you look after a site you didn't build?

Usually. We review it first, tell you honestly what state it is in, and quote for anything that needs fixing before we take it on.
