Privacy notice
Short, because we don't collect much.
This site has no cookies, no analytics and no tracking. The only personal data we handle is what you choose to send us.
Who we are
GFE Tech Group Ltd is registered in England & Wales, company number 17234887. Registered office: 56 Wentworth Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, WN4 9UR. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC153731, and we are the data controller for anything you send us through this site. To contact us about your data, use the contact form.
What we collect, and why
- Enquiries. When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, business name if you give one, and your message. It is emailed to us through Resend, the service that delivers the message, and then handled in our mailbox. We use it to reply and, if you become a client, to do the work you have asked for. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to you, then contract once we are working together.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical data when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the page visited, for security and to keep the site running. These logs are held briefly and not used to identify you.
- Fonts. Pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser makes a request to Google when the page opens. Google's own privacy policy covers that request. We receive nothing from it.
What we don't do
- No cookies are set by this site.
- No analytics, advertising or social media tracking scripts are used.
- We never sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and for up to two years afterwards in case you come back to us. Client records are kept for the length of the work plus six years, which is what UK tax and contract law expects.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Ask through the contact form and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Client websites
Websites we build and manage for clients have their own privacy notices. Data submitted through a client's site belongs to that client; we process it on their behalf under our agreement with them.
